"It has been ten years since the New York Times declared it is socially acceptable to meet your date on the Internet," wrote Ann Friedman in a 2013 article titled "Perils of Online Dating." According to Friedman, one-third of America’s 90 million singles have used online dating services. While some find love, get married, and live happily ever after, some have met with tragedy.

  1. I thin it is the Responsibility of those Online Dating sites who are providing there services to make sure and Authenticate the unknown person's profile! and provide proper security, and all danger aspects to the girls and women related to there dating!

  2. Thank you for taking the time to comment Jennifer. While I agree dating services should take necessary precautions to screen clients, our personal safety is really in our own hands. Many individuals who have committed horrific serial and individual crimes against others have appeared to be responsible members in our communities and able to sneak under the radar. I recommend taking every precaution possible to promote personal safety and most importantly . . . listen to intuition.
